![]() Tori Champagne Duchesne, Senior Goalkeeper "Tori plays like a guy, and I mean that with the utmost respect,'' Pioneers' coach Dave Thurmer said. The Quincy recruit had 18 wins, 13 shutouts and a 0.71 goals-against. She made the big stops at key times as the Pioneers captured the Class 2 state title. ![]() Katelyn Frederickson Nerinx Hall, Senior Midfielder A two-time second-team selection, Frederickson was as versatile as any player in the area, filling whatever role the Markers required. Much of the Nerinx attack went through Frederickson, who finished the season with 10 goals and 15 assists and who will continue her career at Missouri State. ![]() Kelley Gravlin Incarnate Word, Junior Midfielder A competitor who has battled injuries throughout her career, Gravlin finally had a chance to showcase here incredible two-way skills this spring. She led the Red Knights with seven goals while impacting the game in all thirds of the field. A junior, she has already committed to the University of Memphis. ![]() Becky Handley St. Joseph's, Senior Forward In soccer and in basketball, Handley left it all on the field and court. An attacker in every sense, she led the Angels with 13 goals and 12 assists and was part of a senior crew that finished 78-14-3 and made three state appearances. A third-teamer as a junior, Handley has signed with Missouri State. ![]() Allison Hu Duchesne, Senior Defender A returning first-teamer who took third-team honors as a sophomore, Hu was the steadying force in the backfield for the Class 2 champs. Blessed with speed and an uncanny ability to read the game, the St. Louis University recruit always seemed to be in position to make plays. Also chipped in with three goals and three assists. ![]() Claire Hulcer St. Joseph's, Senior Defender One of the region's top markers, Hulcer was routinely assigned the other team's main scoring threat and excelled in making her a non-threat. The Missouri State recruit also showed the ability to get into the attack for St. Joe's, contributing a goal and three assists. ![]() Megan Jaskowiak Althoff, Senior Midfielder A strong two-way midfielder who was sometimes overshadowed by teammate and Player of the Year Megan Pawloski, Jaskowiak moves up after earning second-team honors a year ago. One of several top recruits for Missouri State, Jaskowiak was among the area scoring leaders with 30 goals and 13 assists this spring. ![]() Alli Reimer Duchesne, Senior Midfielder A gifted athlete who earned third-team All-Metro honors in basketball, Reimer was a second-team All-Metro soccer choice in both 2007 and 2008. A future Billiken, Reimer (12 goals, 7 assists) capped her career in style with a pair of head-ball goals in the Pioneers' 4-1 title-game victory over Smithville. ![]() Emily Sinovich Incarnate Word, Senior Defender A legitimate Player of the Year candidate, Sinovich came into her own this season after filling more of a supporting role through her first three seasons with the Red Knights. Combining size, skill and smarts, she was as good as any defender in the area. In addition, the Alabama-Birmingham recruit was a major threat on dead balls, contributing five goals — including four game-winners — and four assists. ![]() Jenn Tucker Incarnate Word, Senior Defender A returning first-teamer, Tucker started the season slowly but came on strong in helping the Red Knights reach their third consecutive title game and capture back-to-back state championships. A tenacious ball-winner with a bit of a mean streak, Tucker has signed with SIU Edwardsville.
