Dennis Moore scored twice for the Blue Jays, on a 90-yard kickoff return and a 29-yard pass from quarterback Juntin Hinni.

Washington (7-4) was making its first playoff appearance since 2001. Rolla (10-1) will face Parkway North (8-1) Monday.

CLASS 4

Ladue 41, Gateway Tech 14 — The Ladue High football team needed a wake-up call Wednesday night. It came in the form of a pair of early touchdowns from Gateway Tech. The Rams snapped to life after the early deficit, scoring 35 unanswered points to roll to victory.

The Rams (9-2) woke up from an early slumber thanks in part to junior quarterback Kortland Webb, who threw for two scores and ran for two others. He racked up 260 yards in total offense including 143 on the ground.

Webb connected with senior wide out Dre Washington for a pair of scores to trigger the five-touchdown blitz. Brian Thomas and Charles Badgett also scored on touchdown runs.

Gateway Tech (6-5) bolted out to a 12-0 lead on a 61-yard pass from quarterback Paul Rice to Robert O'Kelley and a 21-yard scoring scramble by Rice. But Ladue answered with a pair of second-quarter touchdowns to take the lead for good. Thomas zipped up the middle from 10-yards out to put the Rams on the board midway through the second period. Webb then hit Washington on a 36-yard strike in the final two minutes of the half.

Hannibal 37, Fort Zumwalt East 12 — The Pirates (9-2) jumped to a 20-6 lead in the first quarter and cruised the rest of the way.

Hannibal was led by receiver Mat Sims, who scored on three touchdown passes from quarterback Charlie Fohdy and kicked a 34-yard field goal. The Pirates will face Helias on Monday.

Zumwalt East (8-3) finished just its second year of varsity football.

CLASS 3

Priory 42, Cardinal Ritter 28 — Priory jumped to 28-0 lead and held on to upset Ritter, ranked fourth among small schools.

Matt Jones led the Rebels (6-5), scoring on runs of 1 and 3 yards, and completed a 21-yard pass to Andy Streiff. Ritter scored its first points of the game with 9:04 left in the third quarter, on a 44-yard run by John Edwards. Edwards scored six minutes later, on a 98-yard run, which left the Lions trailing 35-14.

Priory's victory avenged a loss to Ritter (9-2) in the sectional round last year.

Trinity 28, Borgia 7 — The Titans (8-3) jumped out to a 21-7 halftime lead and cruised to a win to advance to Monday's sectional against Bowling Green (11-0).

Marquise Hill had two first-half touchdowns for Trinity scoring on a 34-yard run in the first quarter and he caught a 10-yard TD pass from Terrence Watson. Jordan Barnes (62 run) and Zibeon Washington (20 run) had the other touchdowns for the Titans. Michael Watkins threw a 33-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Findeiss for the Knights score.

CLASS 2

Brentwood 20, Northwest Academy 14 — Andrew Erby scored his second touchdown of the game in overtime and gave the 9-1 Eagles a first-round win.
