Tywan Brooks
Brentwood football
A 6-foot-1, 185-pound senior quarterback and defensive back, Brooks made big contributions on both sides of the ball in the Eagles' 41-21 win over St. Pius X. He completed 10 of 15 passes for 227 yards and two passing touchdowns and rushed nine times for 169 yards and three TDs. Defensively, he had six solo tackles and six assists. Overall, Brooks has passed for 857 yards and 10 TDs and rushed for 436 yards and seven TDs.


Jessica Damico


Pacific softball
A junior shortstop, Damico set a Missouri state record for all classes for home runs in a single season. She broke the previous record of 13 with her 14th and 15th against St. James last Wednesday. Overall, Damico is batting .548 with 40 RBIs, which is second best in the area. A first-team All-Metro pick last season, Damico has already made an oral commitment to the University of Florida.


Lisa Dera
Ft. Zumwalt South tennis
In her first year of varsity tennis, Dera, a junior, won the No. 1 singles title at the GAC tournament. She defeated Timberland sophomore Savannah Drew 6-4, 6-3 in the championship match at Troy. Dera, who won three matches in the tournament, advanced to the district semifinals and finished the season with a 19-2 record.


Katie Klages
Cor Jesu volleyball
A 5-foot-4 senior libero, Klages was named the MVP of the Belleville East Metro Classic after leading the Chargers to the championship with her outstanding defensive play. In five tournament matches, Klages had 62 digs (5.6 a game) and 65 serve receptions with just three errors (95.5 percent). For the season, Klages is averaging 4.76 digs a game and has a 91.8 serve reception percentage.


James Lewallen
Althoff soccer
A junior forward, Lewallen is fourth in the area in scoring with 21 goals and three assists in 17 games. In two games last week, he had all three goals in a 3-0 win over Gibault and scored the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over Alton. Other highlights for Lewallen this season include hat tricks against Mount Vernon and Centralia. He also runs track for Althoff.


Faith Rolwes
Villa Duchesne volleyball
A 5-foot-11 sophomore setter, Rolwes leads the area in assists with an average of 11.51 a game. She was named to the all-tournament team last weekend at Lutheran-St. Charles after averaging 11.1 assists a game in four matches, three of which the Saints won. Rolwes started as a freshman and was named a second-team MWAA all-star.


Lan Sansone
St. Louis U. High football
In the Jr. Bills' 42-20 victory over Vianney, Sansone, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound junior running back, carried the ball 46 times for 241 yards and two touchdowns on runs of 2 and 5 yards. Sansone leads the team in rushing with 435 yards and is second in TDs with four. Lan's brother Stefan is a kick returner for the Jr. Bills.
