Gina Della Camera
St. Joseph's golf
A junior, Della Camera finished tied for second at the Class 2 state tournament with a 20-over-par 79-81 at Fremont Hills Country Club in Nixa. She advanced to state by winning the district tournament at Crystal Springs Quarry with a 12-over 83. Regular-season highlights for Della Camera include taking third at the Summit Invitational, tying for fifth at the River Challenge and earning medals in four 9-hole matches. She was recently named an MWAA all-star.


Brendan Fournie
Gibault soccer
A senior goalkeeper, Fournie helped the Hawks capture second place at the Illinois Class 1A state tournament. Nicknamed "Mr. October" by coach Jim Corsi for his knack of coming up big in the playoffs, Fournie led the Hawks, who were under .500 (6-14) during the regular season, to five consecutive playoff wins before they fell in four overtimes to Timothy Christian in the state title game. A two-year starter, Fournie finished this season with a 1.48 goals-against average.


Darren Fowlkes
Vashon football
A 6-foot-2, 185-pound junior quarterback, Fowlkes led the Wolverines to a 21-12 victory over Beaumont by completing 14 of 27 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns of 23, 7 and 34 yards. Fowlkes, who is in his first year of varsity football, is fourth in the area in passing yards (2,346) and has thrown for 21 touchdowns. A three-sport athlete, Fowlkes also participates in track and basketball.


Steve Kaiser
DeSmet football
In the Spartans' 52-0 victory over Howell, Kaiser, a 6-foot-3, 225-pound senior quarterback, completed 13 of 18 passes for 242 yards and four touchdowns of 21, 28, 17 and 21 yards. Overall this season, he has passed for 1,460 yards and 23 touchdowns with just two interceptions. Kaiser has committed to SMU on a full scholarship.


David Lambus
University City cross country
A junior, Lambus won the Class 3 District 3 individual title, covering the course at Jefferson Barracks Park in 17 minutes, 19 seconds, more than a minute better than the runner-up. This season, Lambus also won the Webster Invitational, Lutheran North Invitational, Hancock Invitational and the Suburban South Conference meet. He was a state qualifier in cross country and track as a sophomore.


Jocelyn Todd
Ladue cross country
A junior, Todd won the Class 3 District 2 individual title, covering the muddy course at Big Driver in 21 minutes, 5 seconds. Todd's other accomplishments this season include finishing second at the Borgia Invitational, third at the Clayton Invitational and seventh at the Rim Rock Invitational. Todd was named all-state last year after finishing 11th at the Class 3 state meet. She also runs track.


Frankie Vain
Villa Duchesne volleyball
A 6-foot-1 senior middle blocker, Vain helped the Saints advance to the state tournament with big performances in sectional and quarterfinal matches. In the sectional against Westminster, she had 14 kills, 21 digs and seven points off serve. She followed that with 10 kills and 12 digs in the quarterfinal against Borgia. Vain, who has committed to play volleyball at South Carolina, is one of the area leaders in kills (5.33 a game) and blocks (2.39).
