
Jeff Clithero
MICDS soccer
A senior forward, Clithero had nine goals and four assists in four games last week. That includes five goals and two assists against Lutheran South and two goals vs. Lutheran North. Clithero is one of the area's leading scorers, with 25 goals and four assists. Last season, he earned honorable mention all-conference honors after totaling seven goals and five assists. Clithero also plays baseball.

Markus Golden
Affton football
A 6-foot-2, 223-pound senior running back/linebacker, Golden ran for 253 yards on only nine carries, scoring on runs of 47, 72 and 37 yards. He also led the Cougars defensively with nine tackles and two assists. He is among the area leaders in rushing yards (2,024) and touchdowns (26). Last season, he was a first-team All-Metro linebacker after leading the area in solo tackles (145).

Jenny Hummert
St. Joseph's field hockey
In her past four games, Hummert, a senior forward, has five goals and two assists, including two goals and one assist in a 4-0 win over Villa Duchesne. Overall, Hummert has eight goals and eight assists this season. She was a first-team All-Metro pick last season for the champion Angels after finishing with eight goals and a team-leading 15 assists. Hummert has accepted a soccer scholarship from St. Louis University.

Sydney Lehman
Burroughs tennis
A sophomore, Lehman won the Missouri Class 1 singles state championship by defeating Hannah Wille of MICDS 6-4, 6-3 in the title match. After missing most of the season with a stress fracture in her foot, Lehman won all 12 of her matches down the stretch, including four in the district tournament and four at state. Sydney's sister, Alex, who is playing tennis at Harvard, won three consecutive singles titles from 2006-2008.

Paige Miller
Kennedy softball
A junior pitcher, Miller led the area in ERA (0.19), finishing with a 13-3 record, 188 strikeouts in 108 innings and six shutouts. At the plate, she hit .453 with 16 RBIs and nine extra-base hits. She was named the AAA Conference player of the year, all-district and all-region. Miller did not allow an earned run in the playoffs, tossing a no-hitter in the district championship vs. Westminster and a shutout against Affton in the sectional.

Rachel Stuhlmann
Kirkwood tennis
A senior, Stuhlmann captured the Missouri Class 2 singles championship, defeating Suzanne Barth of Park Hill 6-0, 6-0. Stuhlmann, who lost just 18 points in the title match, is the first singles player since 1987 to win the championship match without losing a game. She also won the Suburban West Conference tournament and the district tournament. She has accepted a tennis scholarship from Mizzou.

Ryan Todd
Jersey Community cross country
A senior, Todd won a Class 2A regional championship, covering the course at Triad in 16 minutes 21.87 seconds. Todd finished first in five regular-season meets — the Edwardsville Invitational, Alton Invitational, Carrollton Invitational, Triad Invitational and Mississippi Valley Conference meet. Last season, he finished third at the state cross country meet and second in the 1600 at the state track meet.
